Mary Ann Samyn is the author of six collections of poetry: Air, Light, Dust, Shadow, Distance, winner of the 2017 42 Miles Press Prize; My Life in Heaven, winner of the 2012 FIELD Prize; Beauty Breaks In; Purr; Inside the Yellow Dress; and Captivity Narrative, winner of the 1999 Ohio State UP/The Journal Prize. She has also published two chapbooks. She is Professor of English in the MFA in Creative Writing program at West Virginia University. She lives in West Virginia and in Michigan.
